Currículum vitae

Alexandre Díaz Pons, MSc is a Predoctoral Researcher in the Neurosciences Area at the Research Institute “Marqués de Valdecilla” (IDIVAL), Santander, Spain. His research takes a translational approach to mental health across the lifespan, linking early neurodevelopmental processes with adult psychopathology. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) and a Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology from the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Cantabria (UC). His current research focuses on maternal immune activation (MIA) and its impact on early human neurodevelopment, aiming to identify immune and neurocognitive biomarkers that clarify early risk mechanisms for psychosis and other severe mental disorders. Previously, he has also worked with adult psychosis populations, with a particular focus on women’s mental health and family-related factors influencing clinical outcomes and recovery. He has presented his work at national and international scientific meetings, and has published scientific articles in high-impact journals.
